separation suggestions
Sometimes it is hard to leave Mom or Dad; so to help you and your child with this time, we have a few suggestions.
1) Make the goodbyes short.
A kiss & hug with a cheerful “see you later” is good. Please do not prolong the process by visiting with friends or your child.
2) Please do not leave without saying, “Goodbye.”
Tears may be hard, but DISAPPEARING CREATES PANIC.
We will not allow your child to cry any longer than 10 minutes. We will notify you (by posting your contact # on the digital display board at the front of the sanctuary) and have you stay with your child until he/she feels more secure.
If you do stay, please find a place to sit down. Assure your child that you will not leave without telling him/her and that you will watch them play for awhile. Do not follow your child around - even if he/she won’t participate in activities. He/she is doing some very important observing. Each weekend your stay will be shorter until you will be able to leave a happy child in class.
Please feel free to discuss anything that concerns you with the Nursery workers.
